Why I started chasing my purpose.

“If you believe in God (and I do) you must declare resistance evil, for it prevents us from achieving the life God intended when he endowed each of us with our own unique ideas.”

“the War of Art” is written by Steven Pressfield and is about “breaking through the blocks and winning your inner creative battles.”

(Jay Azeltine influenced me to read this book and I highly recommend you to as well, because it is life changing.)

The quote from above is found in the first few pages of the book and this quote hit me HARD.

Then I wondered… “Did God give me an individual purpose?” I had always been told that God had always put me on the earth for a reason, but it just sounded cliche. But for some reason when I read this quote, it really hit home.

Here’s a bible verse I bet you’ve heard before….

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:5

God knew about you, and I literally mean he thought of you before you were even born, don’t you think he has a purpose for you? God knew exactly what he has planned for you and he knows EXACTLY what you are to do on earth while you still have a chance.

When I originally read this quote I was still shy about ScharpFitness and my ambitions in life. I cared what other people thought and I lived my life in order to meet others expectations.

God designed me to fulfill a certain purpose on this earth, if I shy away from fulfillingGod’s work then I am “failing” in essence. Now, I might fail over and over again, but I am pursuing my work in God and I am pursuing why he has put me here. Which is why I will be successful.

That is why it is NECESSARY for you to do what you are put here for. You don’t need to worry about what your friends think, because chances are that if they don’t support you, believe in you, or they talk behind your back, then they probably aren’t your real friends.

With that all being said, I decided that I didn’t have any right to be shy about any ambition I have in life, because that ambition was placed in me for a reason.

One last thing before we wrap this up. Having influential people in your life will go a long way. Make time to meet them and to learn from them. As you guys know I traveled to Old School gym and met some of the most influential people in my life. On top of that I traveled to Iron Valley Barbell and met yet another role model. Making time to talk face to face with your role models will teach you and motivate you more than you can understand… surround yourself with those that have a vision similar to yours.

Much Love,
