“23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters”
– Colossians 3:23
Being average is something that our generation has become too comfortable with.
In school being average is a good thing, getting an average grade on a test would be acceptable to most people. I was one that aimed for average grades because I figured that it was all I needed in order to GET BY. But the more I think about it, why would one want to be average?
Having average goals is one thing that I will never let myself do, and one thing that I want to keep others from doing. I do not WANT to be like everyone else. I 100% believe that God put each one of us on this planet for a PURPOSE and that if we are just chasing an “average” job or goal, we are WASTING that purpose he gave us.
I love that most people don’t understand why I would wake up first thing in the morning and go to the gym because that is what separates me from them. If I wake up 2-3 hours before you EVERY morning and I’m being more productive with my time than you are, then who do you think will end up with a greater result? The one who has put in MORE time.
Everything is a process and nothing can happen overnight. With the goals I have, I understand that I’ll be chasing them for the next 10 years before I start checking those goals off. But I believe that is what it takes in order separate myself. I don’t want to just think short term, I’m thinking decades in advance. Growing everyday and refusing to be AVERAGE.
